Maundy Thursday marks the beginning of the Holy Triduum, the three-day liturgical sequence that recalls the passion, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In the Maundy Thursday liturgy, we commemorate the Last Supper and the tradition of the Mandatum novum (New Commandment), as the clergy ceremonially wash the feet of the People.

Today's sermon is "Will We Let Jesus Wash Our Feet?"—
Jesus's new commandment to love one another does not deny death and mortality. It speaks of life beyond the grave, of love stronger than death. It is about responding to violence with gentle compassion, refusing to let terror have the final say.
