The Feast of St. Francis and Blessing of the Animals is a beloved Cathedral tradition. Join us for worship, dance, and music in honor of St. Francis, patron of the environment and ecology.

The organ prelude will begin at 10:20am, and the service will begin at 10:30am.

For this year's service, the Cathedral is blessed to be able to bring back the Procession of Animals, a long-beloved part of our pre-pandemic tradition. For a message from the Dean on the Cathedral's thinking behind this decision, visit our blog.

The afternoon fair and pet blessings will be held rain or shine, beginning immediately after the service. Stay for an afternoon of fun activities and learn about environmental initiatives and climate justice!

St. Francis Day is possible thanks to generous donors in our community. For gifts of $300 or more, we will thank you with a reserved seat for the service in the front section and you will also be acknowledged in the service program. If you would like to learn more, or honor a loved one, either pet or person, by sponsoring an animal in the procession, please contact Priscilla Bayley at [email protected]. Click here to give.

Please note, all passes have now been reserved for this year's service. A limited number of passes will be available in person on the morning of October 1. No passes are needed to attend the fair following the service.
