Visitors are invited to begin lining up at 4pm. Gates to the grounds of the Cathedral will open at 5pm.

The 29th annual Memorial Day concert, one of the Cathedral's most cherished signature events, returns for 2021. The program, presented without intermission, includes works by Mahler, Jessie Montgomery, Mozart, Schubert, and Carlos Simon. Conducted by Gemma New. Full program available here.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cathedral building will not be open to the public for this year’s performance. As is tradition, the audio of the performance will be broadcast onto the adjacent Pulpit Green where the public is invited to gather and enjoy the music -- weather permitting. The concert will also be livestreamed for free on NYPhil+, on the Philharmonic’s Facebook and YouTube channels, and on the Cathedral’s website and Facebook page.

Vaccinated Access Only.
To help ensure the health and safety of our visitors, staff, residents and artists, the Cathedral is requesting that people wishing to enter the grounds for the annual Memorial Day Concert be fully vaccinated. This decision was made to accommodate as many people as possible.

• The Cathedral accepts printed or digital proof of vaccination (a photo of your vaccination card is acceptable), as well as New York State’s Excelsior Pass.

• Visitors must also present a valid photo ID. Names must match on the photo ID and vaccination documents.

No Mask, No Entry.
Additionally, all visitors are required to wear masks when entering the Cathedral grounds and when walking on the grounds. After visitors are seated, they may remove their masks. Visitors are welcome to bring snacks and refreshments with them, but large bags are discouraged to expedite the entry process. Visitors are asked to please dispose of what remains appropriately.

Registration and Seating.
Registration online is required, but will not guarantee entry onto the Pulpit Green. We will have several overflow areas open to welcome as many audience members as possible, but the best way to ensure your spot on the grounds is to arrive early.

Visitors are invited to begin lining up at 4pm and doors will open at 5pm. Music will begin promptly at 7pm. No late entries. There is no bathroom access on the grounds.

Upon entrance at 110th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, visitors will be screened by a metal detector and bags will be checked.
