The Rt. Rev. Clifton Daniel IIl, Dean of the Cathedral, is pleased to invite you to the next virtual gathering of the Cathedral Community, on Thursday, November 12th at noon, to share updates on Cathedral priorities and to discuss the many facets of day to day life at this great public institution.

The Dean will be joined by Meredith Bergmann, a nationally renowned artist whose sculpture, September 11th: A Memorial, has become a profound part of the fabric of this Cathedral. Ms. Bergmann will discuss the process of creating a public memorial commission and the issues involved with representing history in art during these times. Most recently, Ms. Bergmann was commissioned by Monumental Women to create the first statue of real women—several statues honor fictional figures—to be installed in Central Park in the park’s 167-year history. Unveiled this summer on the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, the monument celebrates suffragettes, Susan B. Anthony, Sojourner Truth and Elizabeth Cady Stanton.
