The delegates of the Anglican Communion to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women will be special guests of the Cathedral and Bishop Andrew ML Dietsche for this Evensong. Bishop Mary Glasspool will preaching.
The 63rd session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW) takes place March 11-22, 2019, in New York City. Since 1946, the UNCSW has convened annually to promote women’s rights in political, economic, civil, social and educational fields, and to make recommendations to the members nations on urgent problems facing women and girls. Anglican and Episcopal women and men, girls and boys have been involved with UNCSW since its beginnings and in recent years have had a strong presence.
