Opened July 12

The dome rising above the Cathedral Crossing is an engineering marvel. Constructed in 1909 in only 15 weeks, using no scaffolding from below, and intended to be only a temporary covering, the dome is a testament to the architectural mastery of the R. Guastavino Company.

Through archival images and renderings, this exhibition captures the ingenuity, grit, and fine craftsmanship required to build one of the Cathedral’s greatest features.
