Great Music... and Dance at the Cathedral

Great Music... and Dance at the Cathedral

Music at the Cathedral comprises a wide variety of performances and genres. Opportunties to watch modern dance, however, tend to arise less frequently within this Gothically gorgeous space. On Tuesday, April 26, audiences will have the pleasure of taking in an evening of organ and choral music melded with contemporary choregraphy--courtesy the Great Music in a Great Space series and Ensemble 1047 Dance Collective.

The organists for Tuesday's concert, Samuel Kuffuor-Afryie and Raymond Nagem, are both familiar with the Cathedral's unique acoustics. Raymond Nagem, Music Minister at Brick Presbyterian Church, spent many years as Associate Director of Music at the Cathedral. Samuel joined the Cathedral in 2020 and serves as Organ Scholar, accompanying the Cathedral Choirs during services and performing solo repertoire. The two organists will be joined on Tuesday by violinist Monica Davis and Ensemble 1047 Dance Collective, featuring Chase Buntrock, Runako Campbell, Mio Ishikawa, and Kevin Pajarillaga.

As an advance preview of Tuesday's performance, Sam and Ray put together these videos for the Cathedral community's listening pleasure:
