The Fifth Sunday of Easter, Commemoration of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide

The Cathedral's Sunday worship service will include a solemn prayer and commemoration of the Armenian Genocide. The Very Rev. Patrick Malloy, Dean, is the celebrant with guest homilist His Grace, Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan, Primate, Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America. The Gomidas Choir of the Diocese, Kris Kalfayan, director, and The Very Rev. Fr. Mamigon Kiledjian, organist, will participate. During this solemn liturgical service, the Intercessory Prayer for the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide will be offered before the Armenian Khatchkar in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. This khatchkar was originally unveiled at a memorial concert for the Armenian Genocide on April 25, 1987. It is the work of artist Zadik Zadikian, reproduced from an historic original "cross stone" in Armenia. The livestream will begin on Sunday, April 28 at 10:30am.
