Transfer Assets to the Cathedral
The gift that gives back
Assets can be transferred to the Cathedral Church of Saint
John the Divine through a Charitable Remainder Annuity
Trust. Assets transferred to a trust pay a set amount each
year to non-charitable beneficiaries (for example, to yourself
and/or your children). This can be for a fixed term
or for the life or lives of the beneficiaries, after which
time the remaining assets are distributed to the Cathedral.
A gift of the type provides three benefits:
- You will receive an immediate income tax deduction
for the value of the remainder that will be transferred
to the Cathedral upon the trust’s termination;
- You and/or your beneficiaries collect income from the
assets for a specified period of time;
- There will be a significant reduction in your estate
taxes when the trust remainder is transferred to the
Cathedral.
Establishing a Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust will
require the assistance of your financial advisor or attorney. For
more information please call the Development Office at
212 316-7461 or e-mail us at support@stjohndivine.org.
Any information you provide will be held in strict confidence.
