Spirit of the City, a gala

For over three decades, the Cathedral has been to honored to bestow its Spirit of the City Award to recognize individuals who have served and inspired our great City, enhancing its character as a city of accomplishment, compassion and determination.

New York is an indomitable city, made strong by the many gifted people who make up our communities and leadership.  For more than a hundred years the Cathedral has opened its doors to New Yorkers and visitors from around the world, as a unifying, interfaith center of intellectual light and leadership. In joining us and generously supporting the Cathedral, you, too, embody the Spirit of the City.
