The Clothing Closet

The myriad of services that address poverty on a community level involve a lot of referral services and direct on-site counseling. These programs are staffed by the Case Manager, Intake Coordinator, and MSW interns.

Open two mornings per week in conjunction with the Crisis Center, the Clothing Closet gives out appropriate professional clothing to individuals seeking to return to the workforce. Individuals must provide a referral to receive clothing, which is then distributed free of charge based upon availability. Without a dedicated staff person or permanent volunteer, several CCC staff members share responsibility for organizing the clothes that have been donated and managing their distribution.

Volunteers are needed for this project. If you are interested, please call (212) 316-7581. Professional clothing donations in tall and large sizes are accepted. Donations of coats during the winter months are greatly appreciated.

Clothing Closet Hours of Operation:
Tuesday & Thursday, 10 am-1 pm

The clothing closet is closed during rain, snow, or if the temperature is below 40 degrees.  It is an outdoor closet.
