Omega Dance Company
The Omega Dance Company is in residence at the
Cathedral of St. John the Divine, New York City. It is an interfaith
and multi-cultural group of professional dancers under the Artistic
Direction of Kara Esposito. Touring internationally, Omega has
presented its diverse workshops and repertory in concerts, art
festivals, interfaith services, and educational settings. Omega
was founded in 1974 by Carla DeSola to express the spiritual,
social, and healing dimensions of dance. The company is dedicated
to bringing dance into spiritual observances and in concert
for all settings.
Forces of Nature Dance Theater Company
The Forces of Nature Dance Theater Company is
celebrating 11 years of artistic excellence in residence at
the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine where it continues
it's mission to create a "living book" from which
audiences of all ages may experience the talent, histories,
mythologies and accomplishments of the African Diaspora and
its influence in American Dance. Conceived in 1981 by Artistic
Director Abdel R. Salaam and founded in the same year in partnership
with the Associate Executive Director 'Dale Husbands, the company
is celebrated for giving audiences one of the most profound
theatre experiences in dance today. With an additional record
of excellence in community service through the arts, the "Forces"
continue to set milestones establishing the company as creative
and educational visionaries.
