Saint Francis Day
This is a special year for Saint Francis Day as the entire length of the Cathedral is available again at last, ready to accommodate all animals and their caretakers, friends, and families. Thanks to Dawn Animal Sanctuary, visitors can expect to see a great variety of animals process up the nave, including a yak, a tortoise, baby swans, and a macaw. Animals can be blessed on the Close, where the Cathedral’s annual Saint Francis Day Fair will also be held. The Fair’s themes – celebration of the natural world, compassion, and stewardship – align with the vision and work of this important saint.
Bags and Backpacks
All bags are subject to security inspection before entering the Cathedral. To avoid a lengthy wait in the line to enter the Cathedral, visitors are encouraged to try not to bring bags and backpacks. The Cathedral does not have a checkroom.
Sunday, October 4, 11 am Service, followed by a Fair at 1 pm
